I am a documentary photographer with a range of diverse approaches and a passionate interest in the best and the worst of the human condition.

I studied architecture in the 1960s in my home city of Birmingham and lived and worked in southern Spain in the 1970s. Until 2021 I lived in Bristol where I worked for many years in the housing and community sectors. I obtained an MA in documentary photography from the University of Wales Newport in 2004. Since 2021 I have lived in north Oxford.

Commissioned projects include work for architects, artists, musicians, publishers, charities and community sector organisations.

I have self-published twelve books of my photographs and details of these can be seen in the ‘Photobooks’ section of this site. My most recent book, ‘In Ethiopia’, documents a journey from the Tigray region in the north to the Omo river valley in the far south.
