The Path Among all of Britain's network of footpaths and long distance ways the South West Coast Path, stretching for 1000 km and passing through four counties, is for me the most beautiful. As I walk the path, which I am hoping to complete before long, I am constantly aware of the endless variety of the topography and the way in which man has often vainly attempted to tame the coastal fringe and of the force of the elements which have shaped this rugged and often lonely peninsular.
