On this site you can view an extensive selection of images including travel photographs from many countries of the world as well as documentary and portrait projects from my former adopted city, Bristol.

I am a documentary photographer with a wide range of diverse approaches and a passionate interest in the best and the worst of the human condition.

I studied architecture in the 1960s in my home city of Birmingham and lived and worked in southern Spain in the 1970s.

For many years I lived in Bristol where I worked in the housing and community sectors.

In 2004 I gained an MA in documentary photography from the University of Wales Newport. Commissioned projects include work for architects, artists, musicians, publishers, charities and community sector organisations. Since 2021 I have lived in north Oxford.

I have self-published twelve books of my photographs and details of these can be seen in the ‘Photobooks’ section of this site.

I am currently chair of Photo Oxford, the charity that mounts a major international biennial festival in the city – the Photo Oxford Festival. For more information see photooxford.org
